The Honda engine, while quiet and torquey, becomes an entirely different beast when the revs rise above 7,000 rpm and the well touted VTEC activates. It feels like you're driving a muscle car when the VTEC kicks in: brutal power, a mean exhaust tone, and an eagerness to rev to redline. No question, the feeling is addictive, and once you activate the VTEC, you'll want to trigger it again and again, if only for the rush of acceleration and the mean snarl of the exhaust.
